Open Education Resource (OER)
Open Education Resources (OER) are the Open Resources used for learning and development, both for self and social development, and are organized with two types of resources.
Concept OER: The first type of Concept OER consist of concept based information resources compiled and created with high quality content for learning and development. The content of the concept is obtained from globally available open and free resources, or created by the CT teachers for using it in teaching – tutoring /learning support /guiding in a role /concept based course for learning knowledge, cognitive skills and psychomotor skills related to tools of technologies. In order to be effective as a learning tool in the constructivist learning (active learning), the concept in the OER is explained at three levels; foundational or preparatory level, course level and higher level. The levels associated to the concept information are the stage-wise levels of the knowledge and technology tools that students can learn to build his/her capacity for becoming effective in solving situated problems identified in the scenario-situations based assignments or projects and required for the role playing.
Activity OER: The second type of Action OER is designed to support active or perform type learning of a student in the constructive learning and development in a role and/or concept based course. Action OER is to support the application of capacity to situated problems identified by a student in the situation or given or chosen by the student and/or his LAD Group. It helps students in capability building, in terms of application, change in attitude and social behavior displayed in the group learning and working (Coop and Collaborative Learning and Working). Activity OER can be built on the basis of Learning Activity (LA) that could be of generic and reusable nature. The Activity OER should also contain a Project Bank in the related application areas as well as self and external evaluation tools, such as questions and their tools of assessment for capacity building, evaluation rubrics for assignment and project evaluation, etc.
